Why is iCloud syncing paused despite paying for iCloud+?

I finally managed to get the latest update as of March 2025, and now I’m having issues with data storage again.

I press “Sync Now” and it immediately goes back to “Syncing Paused”. I figured out that it’s because I needed iCloud+, but the issue is that I’ve already been paying for it prior to the updates.

My actual phone storage says 53.57gb out of 64gb but my iCloud is 86.3gb out of 5gb.

This happened in the past when they released the update that allows you to edit lockscreen features (in around 2023) but I fixed it by buying iCloud+
