Can't connect via Ethernet for 2015 MacBook Pro

Hello - I have a Gigaware usb to ethernet adapter. I'm not sure if that's Thunderbolt 2 but it's not working for my 2015 Macbook Pro (mac OS Monterey V12.7.6).
