My son has been using an ipad with my account info, it’s time to transfer to his own account. No have opened an apple/iCloud child account for him. Now I want to transfer the iPad to his account. How do I do that?

Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple Account - Apple Support

Then have your son “move in” using his credentials. If applicable, set up and use Family Sharing as described in the “Make sure…” article.
