apple maps giving wrong walking directions

There’s a shoe place down the street from me and I walk there often. It’s less than a mile away, takes about 10-15 mins to walk there. A friend asked for the address so I looked it up and it’s telling me it’s over an hour walk. Why? For some reason it’s sending me a mile north to go around a freeway instead of just walking under the bridge as I normally do. It’s safe, there’s a side walk and everything so why is Apple Maps doing this now? Was it broken by the update?! It’s not a problem for me with this instance but I’m worried about when I choose to walk to a new place. I even tried to create my own route but it will not let me cross under the freeway. It makes me go north and around it.
