FCP for iPad (2.1) compatibility with FCPX

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help.

I’m a long time FCPX user on Mac, I’m considering picking up an iPad Pro and FCP for iPad, I would like to use both in my workflow, I envisage creating a rough cut on iPad, and polishing up on Mac. So I would like to share the project to my Mac at that stage.

Brief reading suggests this is possible, but I came across the following caveats on Apples website regarding compatibility:

I’m likely reading this incorrectly, I see it as stating that you can only share FCP iPad projects to FCP 11. Is that correct?

I only have FCPX as the age of my Mac prohibits me getting FCP 11.
