My MacBook display keeps turning off after a few seconds of inactivity

I have gone through system settings to check or reset any setting which could be affecting this, but the display still keeps turning off after a few seconds, even of the MacBook is on mains power. I cannot see any setting for 'put display to sleep' which I can change.

I have turned the Turn Display Off on Battery When Inactive and Turn Display Off on Power Adapter When Inactive to 'never'. The problem persists.
