Unable to connect my new iPhone to FaceTime and iMessage

so I have been trying to get my new iphone to connect my facetime and iMessage with my phone no but its just getting connected to my apple id what to do

iMessage & FaceTime not working since updating to iOS 16.6 I installed the IOS 16.6 on my iPad yesterday and now iMessage and FaceTime don’t work on my iPad. I’ve tried turning them both off on my phone, turning both devices off, turning them both back on (on the phone) then turning the iPad back on - without success. The phone number and email addresses are all ok. I’ve also logged into my Apple account and changed my password. My devices are still communicating as photos are transferring between them. Any ideas? You’ve probably correctly identified me as technically challenged so please give simple instructions 🙄. Thanking you in advance for any help you can provide.
