Why does my iPhone 16 Pro volume reset in silent mode?

I am experiencing an issue with my iPhone 16 Pro. Whenever I toggle the silent mode on and off, the ringtone and alert volume automatically resets to the minimum level. This behavior requires me to manually adjust the volume back to my preferred level every time I disable silent mode.

Is there a way to prevent the device from lowering the volume when switching modes, or is this a known behavior with a planned update to address it?
