How to compile C++ programs on Apple MacBook Air with M3 chip (arm64 architecture)?

Dear all,

I have a brand new Mac Book Air, that I am not able to use. Specifically, I cannot

compile some programs that were worrking on my old Mac.

I understand the problem is related to the new arm64 architecture (Chip M3 for my case).

However, I am not a computer scientist, so that my knowledge stops here.

Can you recommend some detailed instructions please?

(detailed is important. I need that code for my work)

Thank you very much :)
