late 2015 imac running monterey wont open apple id in settings

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue with a late 2015 IMAC running Monterey. When I open settings and try to select my Apple ID account, it just sits and spins. Won’t open. Mail app won’t send mail but is receiving for some reason? Can’t access anything trying to open ICloud. My account is active. I can login from my iPad (which is what I’m using now). I know Monterey is 4 operating systems behind and not supported anymore. I’m wonder if the apple servers are intentionally blocking access because of the lack of OS updates? Does anyone know?
