Removing an app from icloud on my macbook

Dropbox is in my iCloud. I don't want it there but I can't see how to see what apps are on my iCloud or how to remove them. When I click on iCloud it just comes up with what is switched n or off. I'd switch iCloud drive off if I dared but I don't want to lose anything which is there. Just want to keep it on my mac

an anyone help please? I am really not very apple or IT savvy

You go into iCloud Drive in the Finder and see what is there. If "Documents" is turned off in your iCloud System Settings, that usually means only that the Documents folder in your Home folder isn't stored in iCloud - lots of other documents could be, especially if you let Applications store documents in default locations when you save them.

That said, I like the others so far, have no idea what you mean by "Dropbox is in my iCloud". A screenshot might help to explain it. Dropbox has no connection to iCloud, doesn't store anything in iCloud and its folder is usually at the top level of your Home folder.
