Facetime invite notification

I randomly got a facetime notification from a contact saying “facetime link” “Join facetime call” but when I clicked “join” it said “waiting” which I assume, it was ringing the other party so I hung up and in my recent call logs, it showed that it was an outgoing call. I received both the invite on my phone and macbook but it was a notification from the app itself, there was no link on imessage either. Could it be a glitch or did the other party actually call me ? (for context, I was previously in contact with this person hence he couldve possibly found me in the call logs but im not sure)

Please help, has this happened to anyone before or does anyone know what happened ?
