Whenever I try to add my Octopus travel card or even my SC Debit Multicurrency card I get a pop up message stating I cannot add as it doesn’t support. It’s my new IPhone 16 plus and I am still not able to do it

Have you have observed all the steps in Add a transit card to Apple Wallet - Apple Support (HK)
Note that this Apple support document also says that To add a new transit card, you need an eligible payment card in the Wallet app. If you are attempting to add the Octopus card with no payment card in your Wallet it will fail.

There have been several community members asking about Octopus transit cards and from what I’ve been able to determine, the card issuer does not currently support Apple Pay.
What payment network (Visa, MasterCard etc.) is the SC Debit Multi-currency card issued on?
The setup (second link) mentions specifically mentions debit cards. To the best of my knowledge an ATM card cannot be added to Apple Pay. Maybe in the early days of Apple Pay, ATM cards could be added. We’ll need to know the error message. If it’s learn more or cancel, card is not accepted. It might only be able to be added in specific countries or regions. The bank may not have an international agreement on debit card use on other ATM networks.
In the second part (scrolling down) it show using the banks app to add a credit card.
