Logic Pro 11.1.2 on Sequoia 15.3.2. Groups->Editing(Selection) not working

I have two tracks with vocals. Same vocal recorded with different mics. I have 8 takes on each track. I assign the two tracks to a Group with Editing(Selection) checked. The group is active and Groups is active.

When I select a take on one track, the corresponding take is NOT selected on the other track.

When I try to comp the takes on one track, the corresponding takes are NOT selected on the other track.

This used to work.
