when does the 2025 macbook come out

There have been no new MacBooks for several years. If you want a new MacBook Air you can buy it now: MacBook Air 13-inch and MacBook Air 15-inch - Apple

All current Mac notebooks use M4-family chips.

• 13" and 15" MacBook Airs with plain M4 chips came out in March 2025.
• 14" and 16" MacBook Pros with plain M4 chips, M4 Pro chips, and M4 Max chips came out in November 2024.

I would suggest choosing based upon what features you need, and upon what your budget is, rather than getting hung up on the year (2024 vs. 2025).

The MacBook Pros are higher-end machines in terms of their screens and port selection, and can also be higher-end machines in other ways if you choose one of the ones with a M4 Pro or M4 Max chip.
