How do I verify suspicious texts about Apple Pay?

Is this number (1 *********0) an Apple phone #? I received a text to call it bc of suspicious activity on my Apple Pay. I don't use use Apple Pay. Please tell me whether this is real or scam.

It's a scam number. Apple will never send messages about suspicious activity on Apple Pay.


Apple Pay is a payment conduit that requires your bio-metric confirmation for any purchase to go through.

Apple is not involved in any verification for charges using Apple Pay, that is all on your banks side so no way or reason for Apple to send such messages.


You can report it to Apple at reportphishing at apple dot com.

If you tap the right facing arrow you’ll see more information about the sender. I suspect it’s a phishing attempt by scammers. Block the sender, click on nothing in the text, delete and mark junk and move on.
