Pages: How to avoid text wrapping for a hyperlink

How to avoid certain characters from text wrapping. Specifically for a web address, or hyperlink. Specific characters including: " / - ? " are forcing the hyperlink to a new line. What settings do I need to change in Pages to stop that from happening?

ex.

Font: Times New Roman

Size: 12

First Indent: 0"

Hanging Indent: 0.5"

Appears like this, over 3 lines, "breaking/wrapping" at the characters / and ?

I guess the question is what do you want it to look like?

As written, the link is too large to fit on one line, so it has to get broken somewhere. What are you looking/hoping for?

Additionally, are you looking for this to actually be a link that someone can click on? In which case, you can mark it as a link and have a different display from the underlying link.

Select the entire URL, then crtl-click and choose Add Link

This will turn it into a clickable URL. Now click on it, and choose 'Edit Link and you should get this pop-up:

You can change the Display to anything you like. As long as the Link field contains the appropriate URL. If you want to control the line break, you can insert a space where you want it to breaK. For example, I added a space after '2023-03/' which gave Pages a hint as to where to break the line. Now I see:

Now, technically a space in a URL isn't valid, but the underlying link doesn't have the space, so it still works if you click on it, and if you're printing a physical copy of your document then the clickable link is dead anyway and someone's going to have to type out the URL and will skip the space since they don't know it's there.

Of course, if you're distributing this digItally, you can override the display entirely and have it say whatever you want, while still pointing to the proper file/URL

I'd like it to go to the end of the margin then break.

It's for an APA 7 reference list, so the entire hyperlink needs to be displayed without alternations.

However, with all of these split/broken hyperlinks before the margin they are taking up 3-4+ lines, instead of 1 or 2. And it looks bad.

Ideally I would like to disable the characters / ? - from breaking the hyperlink.
