PNY 64GB with C port Apple Products

I have three DUO LINK 4 PNY external Hd toggles and each contain super irreplaceable PHOTOS.

I just saw that my Sony car stereo needs a FireWire update so I’m to download from the Sony website/put onto a USD drive/unzip/ WebLink in my car cord is USB C to the new Sony stereo cord they installed has my iPhones C to stereos USb. I downloaded FireWire update to files/unzipped/ and added the C adapter bit I bought onto the lighting port of the PNY DUO- I used two totally different companies adapters but my iPhone 16 pro even with this adapter isn’t automatically opening the DUO app so I knew there was some issue. When I open the duo app by hand, the Duo portions grayed out and says 0 is on it so the adapters not working.

I have no issue buying more thumb drives that do have a direct C end (to use but also to update my car stereos FireWire) but how the **** do I get all my irreplaceable photos and voice memos etc OFF OF THESE PNY DUO LINK 4 LIGHTENING HDs so I can transfer them???? I see forums talking about it being a power issue but people also stated it didn’t work even with a usb hub too!!! However, one person said the computers got to be power sourced which I assume means “plugged into the wall” to assign additional power for the PNY to launch on my iPhone - but then someone else says the computer needs to be plugged into the usb hub!?!? How do I do that with my MacBook Air laptop?? A power cord is a power cord, that needs to be in a wall outlet to get power, right? Or is a “usb hub” (recommend one anyone??) plug into the wall, I somehow plug my MacBook Air to the hub, put the usb end of the PNY into the same hub…. And then….. what? What will I need to buy if that will even work? If that won’t work, what do I do to get everything on these dangly PNY (one end is lightening- one end usb and it’s around 5” long)?? I can’t loose what’s on these. Sadly the DUO LINK company is ZERO help with this issue and the next iPhone thumb drives I soon buy will NOT be any of theirs. Can anyone guide me? Forget about my car radios update- I just said that for reference of how I discovered this- knowing for sure there is NO extension that will allow these PNY’s to work with my iPhone 16 pro plus whatever…. A final yes it will/and how or no it will not at all/how to get my things off of them….thats the help I’d be grateful for!! Thank you. Cheers.
