How do I stop Apple from charging me for declined purchases on Coin Master?

Since having an IPhone I have never subscribed to anything and never played any games. I downloaded CoinMaster last month and now Apple has been trying to take money from me. Let me tell you how they are doing it! I started purchasing food packs and extra things on the game to advance quicker. The charges would be 99cent to 4.99. The money came from the card I have on file with little to no money on it! Give it 2 weeks later and Apple has the nerve to try to take $28 from the card. I call and they tell me it’s for CoinMaster. I know I’ve paid for my game items. So I’m thinking these people are trying to charge me for the decline purchases? I can’t see anything because Apple didn’t get the $28. So I add $30 to my Apple and they take it, now I can see a receipt… I had CoinMaster send me an email of my purchases… and it was the same amount added together that Apple just charged me for again! That was a month ago and guess what? I purchased a few items for the game and here comes Apple adding it together and trying to charge me again!!! When are we suing them?? I have my proof and I have explained what their system is doing and they are denying it! I’m just a broke black lady that doesn’t like being screwed over by a billion dollar company!! I can only imagine the amounts missing from people that don’t notice money missing!!

Sorry, but it is just your accounting practices that are at fault here. Apple did not take any money that was not authorized by double clicking the side button, followed by verification using FaceID/Passcode. The one week purchases from Coin Master most likely does not include all of your charges that were likely billed later. It is not always done on the same day.

Thank you for your pleasant response, but I’m still not believing that. I know how many items I purchased and they were taken from the card right then! I didn’t purchase over $40 of items. Also they added their tax to each purchase! I’m not the only one this is happening too.. definitely my account is probably the least amount taken compared to a lot of other people. Just remember this post when they get sued.

You seem like a nice person and I hope you have a great rest of your year! Summers almost here☀️☀️☀️

The issue is your assuming when you download the accessories for the game, you’re not billed immediately. You are not.

Apple holds several small purchases and combines them all together every 3 to 7 days depending on the size of your individual purchase.

Why does Apple do this, you may ask? It’s simple, the credit card processor, the payment network (Visa, Mastercard etc.) and your bank all take a cut. Processing a $0.99 purchase individually might cost Apple $1.50. That leaves nothing left for the game developer and Apple. They would actually lose money on every small purchase.

The credit card processor allows Apple to accumulate a group of small purchases into a patch to reduce costs and allow the game accessories to be sold so inexpensively. This is called batch processing.

The other reason is processing all the small purchases in real time would cause all the payment networks around the world. It’s not just Apple that does this but Google and other merchants have small cost items they need to batch. How would you like to go buy groceries only to be told it’ll be a few minutes to process your payment because the networks are slow? Not much fun waiting 5 minutes with a cart full of groceries.

So, Apple makes the process clear in the terms and conditions of their stores like Apple App Store and iTunes Store. It’s also stated in their support articles.

I hope that clears things up for you and explains the process to you in an easy manner.

I hope you have a great evening!

Actually they added your tax. Each location has their own sales tax that must be included on any purchase. Some States in the US have zero sales tax and if you live there, then you would see nothing added.
