Logic is a great daw but when are those issues getting fixed?

  1. Plugins can make the entire DAW unstable—there should be a way to identify faulty plugins easily. (i tried console and “recover or quit” is useless)
  2. Time-Stretching Algorithm is Outdated , it has very audible artifacts in all modes. pitch shifting is also not the best sounding.
  3. No LFO Modulation Tool A simple LFO modulator (like in Ableton or Bitwig) for automating parameters would be a game-changer.
  4. Editing & Waveform View is Outdated The waveform resolution is low and doesn’t always reflect true transients.
  5. Fade Tool is Slow & Unnecessary Logic should allow direct edge dragging like Ableton. selectable auto-fades on everything would make workflow smoother.

Provide Apple with Feedback:

Do your Part: Report this to Apple. Fixes may not come about until they are reported to Apple. These are just user-to-user forums. Apple barely reads these forums as it is on their own time. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what issues exist, and what updates to include in versions to come. Apple will not nothing of your issues, if you don't report it to them.

  1. Go Here: Feedback - Logic Pro - Apple
  2. Select: "Broken feature/Report a problem"  for "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment: on when you can across this issue, and how you've troubleshot it, thus far. Include the URL of this thread.
  4. Proceed form there as necessary.

Concern #1:

In most cases it's possible to trace the "An Audio Unit plug-in reported a problem (...)" error with console.

Utilities > Console > crash reports

I had many of these issues with a few plugins even they were all up-to-date. After updating my macos from sonoma 14.7.3 to Sequoia 15.3.1. (now 15.3.2) the issues disappeared.

Concern #2:

Yes, the time stretch algorithms are out-dated but there are nine different time stretch algorithms available when using Time and Pitch Machine in the Audio File Editor and six algorithms in Flex Time. Did you try them?

Concern #3:

There are some Midi-FX-plugins like Modulator, Modifier and others that are worth to look into it. Also check the Scripter Plugin.

Concern #4:

Yes, I agree, the view is out-dated and not exact.

Concern #5:

I second EddieGrey’s suggestions and like to add, you could assign a third quick tool to some windows by selecting Settings > General > Editing > Right Mouse Button > Is Assignable to a Tool

BTW: It's always a good idea to provide information about your Logic version, MacOS and Computer Model.
