HomeKit Open Garage Door keeps asking for additional confirmation

I've noticed this since the recent (iOS 18) updates, that HomeKit is asking me for an extra confirmation when opening e.g. the Garage. How can I disable this? It's causing an extra step that's unnecessary for me. I'm already authenticated and the command has been clearly understood - why the extra confirmation question?

Here the steps to reproduce:

  1. Press & hold the side button on the iPhone
  2. Say "Open the Garage"
  3. Siri responds: "Just checking: do you want to open the Garage Door?" (see screenshot)

How can I disable this behavior and have it simply do the action right away?

I can’t say for certain but I believe it’s a security feature to prevent an unauthorized person from gaining access to your home. For example you may have another device in the home that could hear the Siri command or in the case of someone you once shared the home with that you don’t want using their device to get inside. As well as Siri not understanding a Siri request to turn on lights or whatever when inside the home and it unbeknownst to you opens the garage by mistake. Some wanted the extra authentication due to these or other reasons.

Or does it work better if you say hey siri open the garage, without holding the side button to invoke Siri, Siri responds by voice are you sure and you can say yes?
