LaCie 6TB d2 Thunderbolt drive, wish to have icon show on desktop, prefs are set correctly. Drive is ok

OS Sonoma using a LaCie d2 6tb, thunderbolt hdd. on a MacBook Pro 16" 2019, use for Time Machine backup . Hard drive is available but no desktop icon. Recently it was showing but can't recall if only prior to Sonoma update. Finder prefs are to show hard drives on desktop. Ran DiskUtility, there is no problem.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.7

Thank-you MartinR. It always showed up in the past, have had the drive for a number of years. I occasionally put files on the drive, not using Time Machine. The Time Machine icon is in the menu strip, so not sure why I'd want an extra icon there.

AFAIK, a Time Machine disk does not typically show up as an icon on the Desktop. But you can set a TM preference to have it appear in the menu strip at the top right of your screen.
