Siri will not read messages with locked screen

I have iPhone 13 with ios 18.2,3. I have tried all suggestions and cannot get siri to read my messages while screen is locked. Anything to do with facial recognition?

Siri will not read messages unless I unlock the phone. (Iphone 13 IOS 16) I used to be able to have siri read messages when the phone was locked. She stopped some time ago. I have tried several "fixes" I found here and googling but none seem to fix it. Thanks.

Siri makes me unlock my iPhone before sending a text message using voice Out of absolutely nowhere yesterday, Siri started telling me to unlock my iPhone before I could dictate a text message. I have no idea why this is suddenly required and I have googled it and looked on the message boards and I find no solution. This makes using air buds and an iPhone in freezing cold weather totally useless… It was extremely efficient to be able to reply to or send a text message using my voice and now I'm unable to do it without getting my phone out of my pocket taking off my gloves and unlocking the phone. It won't even allow me to reply to a message. Again it requires me to unlock my iPhone. I have been dictating text messages this way for years and out of nowhere this has changed. I'm very tired of all these love with the iOS updates. Is anybody else having this problem and have you figured out how to resolve it.

A locked iPhone would not have much security if all you, or anyone else, had to do was use Siri to read your messages.
