System Settings->Printers & Scanners->Add Printer,Scanner, or Fax->Select your Canon printer from the list.

Add a printer to your printer list so you can use it on Mac - Apple Support

Canon MP520 Canon lists the printer as retired and no longer supported. You may be out of luck. The MP520 is not AirPrint compatible so you would need to connect it yo your Mac Studio with a USB cable. Have you done that?

This printer was released in 2007 and is now 18 years old. I’m surprised it still functions. However Canon’s website does list a driver as compatible with macOS Sequoia from Sept. ’24.

is there an apple cable that can connect somehow to the Mac Studio port on one end and the old USB plug on the end to the printer?
Otherwise can you recommend a Canon printer for my Mac Studio?

The Mac Studio has two USB-A ports on the back. A standard USB-A printer cable will work if one of those ports is available.

Apple offers a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

You absolutely want a printer with AirPrint support.

You absolutely want AirPrint support.

If you have a Mac or other computers accessing the printer, IPP and IPPS support can be useful, too.

I usually suggest Brother Laser / LED printers as the printer vendor and type. They have common printing services across most of their printers including AirPrint support, they have reasonable documentation and a functional website, and the vendor consumables are not massively overpriced.

Canon MP360, MP520, and MP560 are all mentioned in this thread.

The Canon MultiPASS MP360 is from around 2003, based on the copyright date in the manual.

2003 is before iPhone itself existed.

The last related doc updates posted are from around 2008.

No AirPrint support is listed in the tech specs.
