Problems with really weird overtone/harmony fluttering noise on vocal recording.

Hi!

I have a really annoying problem when recording vocals. It's like a fluttering sounding harmony being added on the vocals and I think the problem might be in Logic, I just don't know what it is. I've never had this problem before when recording vocals in Logic, but Logic has been acting strange in other ways too in the last weeks with weird boom noises and feedback noises.

I've tried 2 different microphones (Röde NT1 and Electro Voice RE20) and 2 different interfaces (SPL Crimson 3 and a Presonus Audiobox)and the problem is still exactly the same. Unless it's the microphone cable, the power cable to the interface or the USB cable from the interface to computer (Macbook Air M2) the problem should be in logic.

Is anyone willing to have a listen to my short vocal take where this noise is heard clearly? Any help is appreciated.

Vocals with weird tone

Not sure what you mean. I'm not in the studio and I'm listening through the mac speakers, but it sounds like a usual voice. I notice overtones that are produced naturally by the voice.

However, make sure your Mac's Mic Mode is set to standard. You can find the setting either in the control center of your mac or in the top bar menu (orange mic icon) when a Logic window is active.

Did you know there is a Logic version 11.1.2 and MacOS 15.3.1 available? Don't forget to backup your computer before updating anything.
