When will Hearing Test & Hearing Aid features be available in Australia?

The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia approved the hearing test and hearing aid features for the AirPods Pro 2 on December 17, 2024. Both Marktty and myself are wanting to know when the firmware will be updated to include Australia as it has now been 3 months since Australian TGA approval was given. Any insider information on when firmware 7B22, I presume, will be released and if it will add Australia would be greatly appreciated.

As far as i know, Apple has not announced a date. Rumours often aboud.

Seems the Therapeutic Goods Administration {TGA} in Australia takes time to approve the use of Apple's hearing-test and hearing-aid feature for use in Australia. (Over 100 countries approved, before Apple's release date last year.)

Apple provides a list of countries where the three hearing health features are approved / available.

Eg: Recently UK was added to the list, just a few months after regulatory appoval was given}

I guess you already know: Air Pods Pro 2 have been providing earlier helpful hearing features that do not require approval for some time now. Eg: Transparency mode / Conversation Boost / Live Listen ... etc.

Hearing Test and Hearing Aid features available today with AirPods Pro 2 - Apple (AU)

Thank you for pin-pointing the approval dates. Sorry I don't know when Australia will figure in Apple's forward-planning. Apple often doesn't announce it's plans ahead of time.

We are all Apple users, like yourself, in this community, so Apple "insiders", if any, are unlikely to see our posts here. Rumours aren't encouraged in the community, so patience is more likely needed, until Apple rolls out the features to us here in Australia. Australia is not the only late-comer country, so it is wait and see ...

Seems hearing health features released to other countries have occurred via Operating System updates. AirPods firmware updates appear in Apple Support's article: About firmware updates for AirPods - Apple Support
