Final Cut not including PNG in Export

I've re-exported this same file about six times and still the problem is persisting... I've included a PNG file in one of my compound clips that is visible in the Timeline Editor, but when I export my finished product, it isn't visible anywhere. I've confirmed the layering is correct (it isn't behind anything), and even more annoying - when I export just the compound clip the PNG is contained within, it's visible in that export, but not when exporting the whole movie.

For reference - I've included a screenshot of both the exported file and of the preview in FCP at approximately the same timestamp.

(Pierre should be RIGHT next to Elon - and yet he's turned invisible.)

And yet, there he is in the exported compound clip.

The Elon and Pierre PNGs are identical dimensions (700x700 pixels, 72x72 resolution), and as I mentioned, the layering of my clips is all right where it should be... I'm absolutely stumped.

If everything else is operating as expected in FCP, then I would try creating a new (empty) project, return to your completed project and select all the clips there - then switch to the newly created project and paste the copied sequence there.

Select the region you are having difficulty with and do a test export from the new project and see if that works.

If it does not, have tried trashing your FCP preferences?

I'd start by deleting all render files and trying to export again.

Bonjour fellow Canadian,

Where did you get Pierre’s photo? Did you erase the background yourself?

Could be some copy protection issue from a png found on the web?

Can you upload those photos, we will try to reproduce the problem. Could be tested in Apple Motion too.

No dice on deleting the render files. I also re-exported the png in question (just in case it was corrupted, somehow), but the issue persists, in new exports.

In other news; replacing the png with a jpeg and then keying the background transparency ALSO doesn't work.
