Garageband auto-saved vs. saved version

Hi, very important topic for me. I accidentally chose saved version of a GB project while launching instead of auto-saved which was already mixed song... Now I have to start over and I was pretty satisfied with my work. Is there a way to acccess this auto-saved version somehow? Please help...

Opening older versions of Garageband files in latest version of Garageband My older Garageband projects, as old as version 5.1, have to be resaved as new files in order to open them in the latest version of Garageband, 10.4.8. When I open them in the latest version though, most of the instrument loops used for backing tracks are unavailable and only the recorded track can be heard. How do I access these older instrument loops particularly the drum loops? If they're not supported it pretty much makes Garageband a worthless recording medium for any enduring recordings.

garageband 10.4.8 i've been using garageband on my macbook for voiceover and podcast editing since the late-aughts. i habitually save my work while editing. however, recently, when i close the app and come back to a project a few days later, it might reload a random older version of the file i was working on. it has happened to me a few times over the past couple weeks. that's hours of work down the drain! in particular, i am losing automation and EQ. in at least one instance, i also lost content edits. it's incredibly annoying. is this happening to anyone else? is there any way to recover whatever temporary files that might have that data in them? is there any setting in the app that i can change that might minimize the likelihood of this continuing to happen or save temp files for retrieval if necessary?

Can't open old Garageband projects... Hi guys A while ago i accidentally deleted 500 Garageband projects i had on an external drive. A friend of mine was able to recover them all... nearly 80Gb of it. All these projects were done between 2015 and 2018 ? Or so.. However now when i try to open them, GarageBand opens a dialog box asking if i want to save them and if i click yes it then tells me it can't open the project. I've also tried importing the .aif files from the Media folder of each project to Music but nothing happens.. Does anyone know how i should go about it ? Many thanks in advance.
