I can't turn off Autoplay in Apple Music for Windows

I have Apple music on my iPhone and Windows PC. Autoplay is off on my phone. When using on my PC I cannot turn it off. When I click on the Queue icon, a "playing next" list appears even though the infinity icon is black. Even if I clear the playing next list, as soon as I click on a new track, a "Playing Next" list appears. Very annoying as it is impossible to play an album.

Windows, Windows 11 (26100)

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - Apple Community for advice on getting a clean install of iTunes. You may find that the Microsoft Store version is better for you than the traditional installer, or vice versa. If you have third party (not Microsoft) AV software then add an exclusion for the iTunes folder in the real-time scanner component.

I don't currently have Apple Music in front of me, but the default behaviour in iTunes, which is presumably carried over, is that in the absence of shuffle and repeat options when you double-click a track to play it the rest of the tracks in the current view will then be played in sequence. This would be the rest of an album when using an album view, or the rest of the songs in a playlist.

You can right-click and use Play Next or Play Later to add things to the Up Next queue. Annoyingly this doesn't automatically start playback if nothing is currently playing, and there isn't a Play Now option that you might use instead that doesn't add the rest of the view to the queue. Once you've added a track to Up Next you can click on the queue to show it and then double-click the track to start it playing. The play button may also work but might involve another dialog about playing or clearing the queue.

Thanks but no luck. When using Apple Music on my PC I am in the Library section with Songs listing. The play, rewind etc at the top of the screen in grey. The only way to paly a track is to right click and select Play" The track" which then has Auto play as the next track (not the next album track), or if I double click it to play, same thing happens.

Wondering if I need to delete Apple Music and reinstall - or go back to iTunes.

Frustrating

I uninstalled Apple Music and reinstalled iTunes. Didn't take me long to remember why I made the switch in the first place. iTunes keeps freezing on me - a song will be playing and mid song the app stops responding even though the music keeps playing. At the end of the track, music stops and app still frozen. Then have to use Task Manager to shut down and restart.
