Can Time Machine help recover lost music files on iMac?

All my downloaded music files have disappeared. Time machine will not work to restore them.

Recover Missing Music Media Files I know lots of people say this, but I have no idea why all the files in Music are missing. I do have to say I did empty the trash for the first time in well over a year, about 800 Gb. I have not even looked at a music file since I converted my iTunes Library to Music, along time ago. So I can't come up with any reason why my media files would be in the trash. I thought the easy fix would be to restore my ~/Music Folder, the whole folder via Time Machine but, the media files are still missing. In TM, I used a backup about a month old and I've used music recently and it worked fine, so a month should be good. Any help as to how to recover media files in Music, via Time Machine would be appreciated. Or, if my music files are not in the ~/Music Folder, and not deleted, where would they be.

Trashing Music Folder on Home drive- recreating from music files backup I have an iMac 2020 that is running Sequoia 15.3. Since upgrading to 15.3, I've seen music files go missing and existing files unrecognized by the Music app (can't locate files). I've backed up the files I have to another drive, and I'd like to recreate the Music Library, then add the music I have back into the app. What is the best method? Should I keep the files on a separate drive, or bring them back onto the Home drive? Further, with the Music app being unreliable in keeping my music, are there any other music programs out there that offer the database coverage that Music does?

Where are music files stored? Where does a Mac store music? For some reason, many of my songs and artists have disappeared. I want to go to time machine and recover an older date so I can get everything back. I have a mac running Ventura

See Empty/corrupt iTunes/Music library after upgrade/crash - Apple Community. The ability to use Time Machine to restore the state of the library will require that the Music folder was included in the items that Time Machine was covering, and that you have backups dating back to a point where the music was all there.
