How to transfer songs to iPods since iTunes doesn't do music in 2025?

Recently I opened iTunes, went to play a song and was greeted with a message saying this content is now available in apple music. I've downloaded apple music for my Windows PC and have used it for a few days. However I don't like it and prefer the apple music through iTunes music experience.

I don't see any functionality on the apple music app to transfer songs to iPods. How would one go about transferring songs i own to an iPod considering the state of iTunes and Apple Music?

Is it possible to get an older version of iTunes and carry on using it like I always used to?

Is it possible to transfer songs from my apple music library to an iPod?

Apple Devices is one way to go, but that doesn't make up for all the other shortcomings of the Apple Music app. My advice would be to simply uninstall whichever of Apple Music/Devices/TV you have installed, which then allows iTunes to open normally again. While any of those are installed iTunes is limited to managing audiobooks and podcasts.
