iPhone 16 connected to Wi-Fi but apps are not loading

iPhone 16, says it’s connected to wifi but the apps are not loading just get the wheel turning, I have to switch wifi off to get apps to work and use data, I have tried all the fixes, it’s not the router as my old iPhone works fine from the router wifi so must be the iphone16 any suggestions?

I am having the same issue. I’ve tried resetting network settings, resetting my router, connecting to other networks and nothing has worked. I’ve spoken with my cellular provider and there doesn’t seem to be a problem there, so I’m at a loss as to what to do. I’m going to an Apple Store later this week and hope they can help.

eta: j/k, it looks like I won’t be going to an Apple Store. When I tried to make an appointment, it says they can’t help with that and then just gave the same suggestions I’ve already tried.

It’s *****! Is there nobody out there from apple tech that can help us, I have tried all the fixes to no avail, it is the iPhone that seems to be the problem

Apple won't see your question here, since this is a user to user only forum. If you want help from Apple itself, contact Apple Support directly. If you're in the US, you can call Apple at: 800-MY-APPLE or visit your closest Apple Store Genius Bar for in-person help. You won't get anyone from Apple to help you here, however.

Do you by chance have the AVG security app on your phone? I just found out that particular app has a VPN, even though my settings didn’t show that I was connected to a VPN. I just deleted the app and I was then able to successfully connect to WiFi. I agree that Apple Tech should be able to do more to help us, because this is flipping ridiculous!

You can agree, but Apple does NOT participate here. This is strictly a user to user only forum. Anyone who wants Apple's active help, needs to contact Apple directly for help.

I'm glad you recognized your security app was the culprit. That may help many others. No security apps or VPNs are needed on an iPhone. In fact, their presence causes all sorts of connectivity issues.
