viewing recently added items

After purchasing songs from the Store, I can only view the Recently Added in Album mode, not by songs.

Sort Albums by date added missing in latest iPad & iOS Music App? Also Music App randomly stop connecting to Apple Music? I cannot be sure if it happened with iPadOS 17.1.1. update or it happened earlier, but I noticed that iPad Music no longer have an option to sort Albums by "recently added". It now only allow me to sort by "Title" or "Artist". "Recently Added" section of iPad Music is limited in number of Album that show and cannot sort all of my Albums (only most recent 60 Albums), so this is a major issue for me... In addition, I have noticed that Music App will randomly stop loading music from Music App with spinning wheel, and only way to get back connection is to force quit App and re-start App.... On my iPhone Music App. with iOS 17.0.3, I can see that I still have an option to sort Album by "recently added" along with "title" and "artist", and not suffering random connection issue. I just updated my iPhone, and upon updating to iOS 17.1.1., iPhone Music App and I also lost ability to sort Albums by "recently added" option.... I hope this is not a new "feature" and Apple accidentally removed this feature???

Can't filter library by artist, album or songs on iPhone Device: iPhone XS Max with iOS 15.5 This is not a super recent development, I've been trying to find a solution on my own with no luck. I've noticed that the option to filter or search songs, artists or albums from the Library tab of the Music app has disappeared. I see only downloaded music and recently added. Some articles I saw suggested going to Settings > Music and enabling 'Show Apple Music' but I don't have that option. Other articles suggested going to Settings > Choose Music and turn on iCloud Music Library but I don't have that option either. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Bud,

The pre-canned "Recently Added" playlist is a lame thing with no view options. You can make your own smart playlist called (for example) "Recent Additions," with a single rule like "Date Added is in the last 6 weeks" and set it for whatever view options you prefer.
