Photos taking forever to sync between my iPhone & MacBook

I have fast Internet as I write this my speed is 472 Mbps down & 92 Up. I can wait at least 5 mins for sync. My iPhone is 15 Pro Max my photo setting is Most Compatible, 24MP JPEG Max. However no matter what I set camera to it still take forever to sync.

Is it just Apple servers are getting slow? I have a setting wrong?

MacBook Air, macOS 15.3

Do I understand that, for you, 5 minutes = forever?

Since syncing uses the battery, and since lots of people are very anxious about battery drain, the iPhone will avoid syncing when not plugged in. And since syncing uses processing power, and people hate slow downs, the iPhone will avoid syncing while you use it. And since syncing requires bandwidth, the iPhone will avoid syncing when the internet connection is weak.

So, if you want faster syncing, then find good wifi, plug the phone in, and leave it alone. All this applies to a lesser extent for the Mac.

When I need a picture immediately (like when I do screenshots for use here,) I use AirDrop.
