Reset Airplay via AirPort Express since internet mesh system installed

Years ago a friend set up my AirPort Express so I can play music wirelessly via Airplay.

The AirPort Express is plugged in via cable to my amplifier which has wired speakers. It is not connected via ethernet, it's wireless.

I have just set up a mesh system to extend my internet so I have a new WiFi Network name and my devices can no longer find or connect to the Airport Express.

How do I make my Airport Express work again?

Been on phone to Apple for 1hr 45mins and they say it can't be done.

Thank you!

Well, let's remember that even the most recent version of the AirPort Express......the one with 2 Ethernet ports..... was designed in the 2011-2012 timeframe.....long before most mesh systems began to appear on the scene.

Newer mesh systems are using WPA3 Security, and the AirPort Express topped out at WPA2.

If you have already spent more than an hour with Apple Support, I doubt that we could find something that they missed.

But, if you are willing to lower the Wi-Fi security on your mesh system to WPA2 Personal.......(which I am not recommending, even if it might be possible).......we could give it a few more tries, if you have a Mac. Setup over an iPhone is not recommended.
