Can't Rename Pages Template

First, I'm using a Late 2013 iMac 27" using Mojave 10.14.6 and Pages 10.1 (I have sitting here a new iMac, still in the box which I will be migrating to. It's going to be painful to lose the big screen, and the resolution on this 27" iMac is all I really need.)

I found my own solution to this problem. After you create a new template in Pages and save it using: File / Save as Template… and selecting Add to Template Chooser. It is saved in the template chooser with a title Untitled n.Template (n being a sequence #). To rename it, first CNTL-click on the Untitled name. Then type in the new name. Now click the mouse off the template icon and it will be renamed. If you hit RETURN instead, the Template will not be renamed, instead either Pages in my case will often crash, or the Template name will revert back to Untitled n and the Template will launch.

You can click once on your new untitled template, and then right-click on it to expose Rename on the secondary menu that has now popped up over that specific template. Then click on the name field of that template and change its name followed by a return to set that new name. Done.

One thing you will discover with Pages v14.3 on the new iMac is that Apple took 8 years to restore non-contiguous text selection.

But, as i stated, after I type in the new title, if I press return the template reverts to Untitled and the template is launched with the name Untitled. To get the title to 'stick' requires that I click off of the new name. Then it renames and when I then select the template and hit return it launches with the correct name. This might have been a bug that has been fixed since Pages v10.1.

Looking forward to Pages 14.3 and using "restore non-contiguous text selection" again. I originally started using Pages back early on. It was disappointing when suddenly Pages lost so many features such as "facing pages" formatting. It took years to get that back. I kept using the earlier Pages version, only to find early Page documents didn't format properly in later versions, evidently some font character lengths changed or something else was making lines of text different lengths between those versions. There were also lots of problems with graphics that wouldn't transfer, or would transfer, but then you couldn't select them. (The latter was a problem with documents that had been formatted as facing pages.) I use facing pages often because my clients wanted to be able to print the documents two sided, and collect them in three hole binders.
