hi, i just bought an ibook g3 and the owner told me that he's tried to replace the battery, but the battery still wont hold charge, so today I've been using it with the charger plugged in trying to think of what I can do. should I try another battery? should I try an internal rebuild?
also, I need a graphite coloured cd drive faceplate

Most available batteries for iBook G3 models are either used or old stock, and cannot be expected to hold charge like a new product. Using an old laptop with a power adapter may be the best way. Regarding the CD drive faceplate, you would have to look for a supplier specialised in spare parts (The BookYard in the UK could possibly be one example).
