iOS Settings: Recent App in settings search bar leads to list of Apps

When I go to the settings app (iPhone), tap on the search bar, then tap on an app I recently searched for (e.g. Safari), I land on the list of Apps most of the time—not on the settings page for that specific app.

This happens mainly when the settings app has been in the background for a while (or been closed for a while).

When I try it again immediately it works.

iOS: 18.3.1 (latest)

iPhone 13 mini 256 GB (Model 14,4).

Hello,

Thank you, but please read my post again. Your reply has nothing to do with my problem.

I'm not confused about what apps and settings are.

I'm trying to get to the Safari settings page as quickly as possible.

Since I've used it recently, it will show up once I tap the search bar in the settings app.

BUT: When the iOS Settings App has been in the background too long (or closed for too long) I will be directed to the Apps list and NOT (as I would expect) to the SETTINGS PAGE of Safari.

Settings Search field:

When you use the search field in Settings on an iPhone, the results you see are settings-related options, like configuration options for an app — not the app itself. The Apps under Suggestion is only the Settings related to Apps. (See the pic below)

Home Screen Search Field:

However, Spotlight Search (when you swipe down from the home screen) shows both the app itself and any related settings, files, or suggestions for that app.
