Depends on what metadata you want to remove. If you want to remove everything except the following:
You can download and install the free ExifTool. With a copy of your original JPG image on your Desktop:
cd ~/Desktop
/usr/local/bin/exiftool -All= foo.jpg
That overwrites the image stripping out metadata.
You can also not be as aggressive as above by just removing all GPS data.
/usr/local/bin/exiftool -gps:all= foo.jpg
