Facetime on MacBook Air doesn't work with one caller.

One person I call regularly I cannot access via my computer. This goes from him to me and me to him. I can We can FaceTime on iPhone or iPad. I can FaceTime with others on the computer. I've turned everything off and on etc. Weird...

Using Facetime on my macbook air I want to answer some Facetime calls on my laptop and others on my phone. When I try to add my phone number to the "apple id" section in settings it tells me " this number is already in use with another account" and wont let me put it in. The apple id/email account information is the same on my iphone and macbook air so of course it is. I want the call notification to come to both phone and laptop. What am I missing? Is the "account" my apple id/account? I have also tried on my ipad...same problem. TIA
