How do I fix microphone issues during FaceTime on iPad?

My iPad microphone was not working during FaceTime. Sounded muffled. I tried everything including resetting it. The Apple support phone personnel made an appointment at an Apple Store. The employee there discovered my problem in 30 seconds. My screen saver was put on the wrong way and was blocking the only microphone that FaceTime uses. It’s halfway down the iPad on the right side. If that’s your issue I hope it works for you
