root process ozZDLtpH taking 99% of CPU - what is the process doing?

using activity Monitor as system running slower than expected - can see the process ozZDLtpH running under root user taking 99.9% of CPU.

Can kill the process but return after few minutes.

recently updated to MacOS Mojave on late 2014 Retina 5K 27inch iMac

very annoying to say the leste

Internet search fails to return any results.

This may be it: Removing "Search Marquis" / "Search Baron" / etc on your own - Apple Community, or About those " will damage your computer" messages - Apple Community


Both of them describe more or less the same troubleshooting techniques though, so either one will do.


It is almost certainly a rogue Launch Demon or Agent, easily identified and eradicated. The rogue process probably will not be known by that file name (they tend to be randomly generated).
