Why is the Find Nearby button missing for my new AirTag on iPhone 16?

I’ve got a new air tag.

It shows where it is on map but that’s all Find my app shows.

Find nearby button doesn’t appear and I have precise location turned on on my iPhone 16?

In theory, "Precision Finding" is available for both your Apple AirTag and your iPhone 16.

This mode relies on Ultra-Wideband Bluetooth (UWB) and the U1 chip in both devices.

In addition to having this feature enabled on your iPhone, the following need to be true:

Both Bluetooth & Location Services must be enabled on your phone.
Precision Finding only works within short-range distances (typically within 30-40 feet, unobstructed). If it's too far, your phone will instead rely on Bluetooth proximity detection (less precise).

I don't have an iPhone 16 to verify, but If Precision Finding is not working with your nearby AirTag, check that Ultra Wideband is enabled:

Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Find My → Set to While Using the App.

I have Bluetooth and location services on but all I see on ‘Find My’ app screen is the map showing my 2 new air tags( one travelling with me and one at my home) with ‘people’ devices’’items’ ad ‘me’ buttons to touch.

shouldn’t there be more options for ‘precision findind’
