How do I transfer music from my mini SD card (using the adapter) to my iphone 12?

With the adapter plugged into the iPhone, the SD card should appear in the Files app, and files there including music can be copied over to a folder in the Files App. The Files app can play said music files directly from there.

There is, unfortunately, no way to copy them directly into the iPhone's Music app.
You need to import them into iTunes or the Music App on a computer and then sync them onto the iPhone to get them to the Music app on the iPhone.
