Why does Apple Music limit authorizations to 5 devices only?

“Apple Music authorize limits: Why in 2025 is there still a 5 computer limit on authorizations for Apple Music, when many people have two Macs, an iPad or two, and an iPhone? Seems like a stupid limit, especially when we pay for Apple Music access. Any answers? Any plans to change this archaic limit?“

So, recommend to Apple that they make blocking out certain artists a feature oof Apple Music. Apple may not get back to your directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what their customers prefer, and what options to include in updates to come.

It is a 5 computer limit. The limit for Apple Music authorizations does not apply to iPads and iPhones:

• You can authorize up to five computers at a time to play your Apple Account purchases.
• After you authorize your computer, your computer is associated with your Apple Account for purchases. Other devices — like iPhone and iPad — don’t count toward your authorized computer limit.

The associated device limit is for Purchases on your account and that is limited to 10 devices, but still no more than 5 computers.
