your computer restarted because of a problem message every time I restart

Just ran the update to MacOS 14.7.4 (was at 14.7.2). Now, every time I restart, then enter my log in password, I get the "your computer restarted because of a problem" message. My computer (MacBook Air M2) did not restart on its own. I also get this message if I log in as a test user. I have downloaded and reinstalled the latest version of Sonoma. That did not fix the problem. I have run First Aid on the drive (volume, containers) no issues found.

Does anyone know what would cause this?

Thank you.

These types of messages can be related to various things including a Hardware Issue or possibly a Third Party Software or Kernel extension

As the issues presents in a Test User account

This tends to indicate a System Wide issue

To skip the Q&A session, just download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

It’s a diagnostic tool that doesn’t change your computer at all. It gives you a clear and easy-to-read list of both your hardware and software

You can get it for free or pay for extra features. And don’t worry, the report won’t reveal any personal information.

Once you’re done, just copy and paste the full report using the Additional Text Icon.
