How can I take full-screen FaceTime photos on my iPhone?

when i take a facetime photo of the person im on the phone with and when i check my camera roll its cropped in this line and its not full screen no more no matter how much i try different angles and trying to keep it straight and not sideways the pictures always come out cropped and i just want it to be full screen. i need help!!!!

Selfie camera on FaceTime staying big when I’m on FaceTime with someone and I go off FaceTime onto a different app then return to FaceTime, my selfie camera preview stays big. by stays big I mean it’s the same size as when you tap the screen and your camera goes bigger. I know it’s nothing major, it is just off putting.
