Photos not changing in iMovies

Once I've added all my photos to the iMovie and then a music track it doesn't transition between the photos. It remains stuck on the first one, however when in edit mode it does seem to transition?

imovie photos won't drag to the timeline My photos are visible in the imovie browser but when I try to drag them to the timeline I get a message "You are combining audio and video clips outside the primary storyline" "You cannot add video clips to existing audio-only compound clips." What does this mean? These are just photos from my photos library, no video or audio. How do I fix this?

Hi,

It's a bug that Apple will need to address. Meanwhile, try inserting a video anywhere in the timeline.
