When I place my phone ( iPhone 16e) in my pocket and take it back out it has lost connection to WiFi. I know my WiFi isn’t bad as I had a 12 and was always connected even when in my pocket. So could this be an intena issue or something

Does this happen with all Wi-Fi networks, or only your home network?
If only with your Home network restart your router.
Another possibility: Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN. However, VPN actually reduces your privacy, it does not enhance it.
