New iPhone 16 pro max issues

I recently purchased a new 16 pro max and am having all the issue I see on-line. Over heating to the point of concern and warning message, black screen when trying to use camera to the point you can't see the image or controls, battery life while told it was to be much better than my previous phone is 1/2 of what life was with my 13 pro. Try and use your fingers to manage camera screen zoom and it starts taking a video. This phone is really a POS and I should of kept my 13 pro max. I recently missed such beautiful picture opportunities while on a trip because of the camera problems. Has anyone had success with a meeting with the genus bar at an apple store to get problems fixed. OR were you just blown off and told it's all in your mind and user error? Oh yes i have the current updates 18.3.1 thank you

Keep in mind that when you setup a new iPhone it has to carry out several background tasks including indexing all your data, which you can experience an increased battery drain and thermal temperature. As long as you do not receive a temperature warning message or a charging on hold message, you can continue to use your iPhone normally. Give it a few days and it should be back to normal.

Let’s define “overheating”. If an iPhone overheats it shuts down so it can’t be used, and displays a message saying it must cool down before it can be turned on, and it will probably be unusable for an hour or so. If you are seeing this it is a hardware problem and you should contact Apple support:

Note that both of the above have options to receive a callback or chat

If you are not seeing this your phone has not overheated. However, if you fast charge your iPhone it may get very warm, and may pause charging at 80% and display a message saying that charging has paused, and will resume when the phone cools down. This is NOT overheating, and is normal when fast charging. It also won’t prevent you from using any app you have on your phone.

If you have just updated allow a couple of days for iOS to complete its “housekeeping"

Some apps that use a lot of energy or that use cellular data rather than Wi-Fi can cause the phone to run warmer. Worst offenders are Facebook, interactive games, watching streaming videos, and the Camera app. And having VPN installed, whether using it or not, can also consume a lot of energy.

All of these are manifestations of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics.

Thank you Zachyy, I have had it long enough to do all of it's indexing etc.. yes I did received a temp warning that I am familiar with from being a iPhone user for years and sometimes having them in a hot vehicle. This is not the case with the 16. In my pocket and out of the sun. heat warning yes but i don't think that was the cause of my cameras/screen issues. Very interesting when you type iPhone 16 pro max issues and problems into the computer you get all the problems listed that I'm experiencing. thanks for your input
